September Book Review

Ahh, another month and another book review. Every time I write one of these posts I get so excited to share with you what I’ve read and can’t wait to hear what you’re reading as well.

This weekend the weather was absolute perfection and I was able to squeeze in some beach time and finish another great read to add here!  There are so many amazing books on my list to read in the coming months, but this is such an exciting batch that I couldn’t wait to tell you about these five total (including one audio book)!

Enjoy and Happy Reading!

Girl,Wash Your Face: A+++

I absolutely 100% have to start this review with this book.  If you haven’t read this, stop what you’re doing and read it now.  This was my first audio book (which I felt a little guilty about listening and counting as reading?) but I digress!  Hollis is inspiring and real and honest and will make you want to get up and get doing whatever it is you are meant to be doing.  Don’t miss this one!

This book admittedly took me a bit to get into, but I am so glad I continued to power through! This is such a beautiful, powerful and moving story of three women during WWII, you won’t want it to end, tears included.

I loved this book. I loved the characters and their development and the switching back and forth between these women and time periods and how it all came together in the end. This is another WWII book about the willpower and tenacity of women from history and one you should definitely read ASAP!

I was so excited when this book arrived in the mail! If you know me, you know this is right up my alley and I could not wait to dive in!  When I started reading it, I was highlighting and dog-earing pages through and through.  The irony of this is that this book is about becoming 10% happier, and instead I was finding myself just more stressed out in an attempt to finish it! Maybe it was my schedule or lack of carving out time, but nonetheless this book definitely has some great nuggets of wisdom, I just wish it was a bit more condensed.

The Matchmaker: A+

Summer would not be complete without me squeezing in another Hilderbrand novel.  You guys, this one was just as good as the others!  I loved the main character and matchmaker herself, Dabney, and how her hidden talent lends itself across the entire island, proving to touch a little too close to home.  This is the perfect quick read.

What are you reading? I would love to hear in the comments below!

P.S.  The best beach reads, so so good, here!
