It is no secret that B and I love to travel. But with lots of travel can come stressful packing situations – from what to bring to how much you can fit into your bag. Quick fun fact: with all of our travels, I have become so good at packing that I haven’t checked a bag at the airport in over eight years! (One dramatic luggage failure will scar you enough that you learn how to optimize a good carry-on!) Needless to say, you’re in good hands and I have the perfect packing essentials you need for a weekend away.
WEEKENDER BAG: This Tuckernuck bag is perfect for a quick weekend trip. The size is just right and I love the clean canvas look and navy trim (comes in other colors, too) and of course the monogram adds such a personal touch! It not only has an over-the-shoulder strap, but also has handles, which are very convenient. If I am traveling anywhere for a long weekend, I love using this bag. (P.S. Tuckernuck customers get 10% off their first purchase!)
WARDROBE: For the weekend, granted you’re not planning on attending a fancy event, I like to pack a versatile outfit that I can wear from day to night. Since the Fall weather in New England has been so warm and unpredictable, I will always plan on wearing layers and this vest is perfect for a bit of warmth at night. For my outfits, I stick to a few tops that will go with anything (like this one and this one), a great pair of jeans (30% off!) and some comfortable flats. These, in my opinion, are the best flats and I have them in so many different colors. They break-in perfectly and you can wear them all Fall through Spring.
MAKE-UP BAG: I shared with you some of my top beauty products here, and it goes to show that when I travel I don’t want to bring an entire case of makeup. This pouch is perfect for just the essentials. With that being said, a quick suggestion: I also always, always bring a bottle of nail polish with me when I travel. There is nothing worse than getting a fresh mani for a trip and one small chip ruins the whole thing! Having the bottle of polish with you allows for quick touch-ups when necessary.
A GOOD BOOK: Finally, I mentioned here that I am making a conscious effort to put down my phone and read more, and I especially plan to do so when on a weekend trip. By carrying my book with me, I am more likely to reach for it during my downtime, and a weekend getaway sounds like the perfect time to dive into a good read!
